Felting at Denise's House
How to felt:
1)Buy a wool bat, sold by the ounce, a 'mat'(Denise had a curtain ~ the brown straw looking mat in the pictures), a plastic sheet to cover table (to protect from soap and water), a tafetta sheet, and a olive oil based soap.
2)Tear wool into strips, place into columns on the mat.
3)Place second layer of columns crosswise, until you have four layers.
4)Place taffeta over the piece, then pour water and rub olive oil on top, massaging in circular motions (so as not to disrupt the bonding between different columns of wool).
5)Gently peel taffeta off and turn piece over, place taffeta on top,and repeat water and soap massages.
6)Take taffetta off, and roll piece in mat.
7)Take out and leave to dry.
Done!
