Steve Hindman Skate/Classic Clinic
March 21st, 2009 at Steven's Pass. Steve Hindman came down from Steven’s Pass and donated his time to give the Outdoorsforall crowd a skate and classic clinic. The groomer spilled oil on the trails, so passes were free (the red markings).

one-ski and the two-ski family.
pole placed on ski: should be at your chin. The weaker your upper body, the shorter you want.
Flex test - pay for that to get best fit.
Double pole five uphill, then V2 five. Should be same cadence.
Flywheel: idea of keeping it going. Once you stop, harder to keep going.
Upper body quiet: glide as long as you can one way, then to other side. Hands on hips to keep straight. Watch each other to keep alignment.
Down least amount of strokes going down, then twice as many going up.
V1 stay low then stand tall on next ski. (we did do a drill like this..).
Walmart Target Neiman marcus: three different body positions ~ NM is the best ~ over your ski.
Sting like a bee, float like a butterfly.
Camber ~ pressed skis together ~ easy to do at one spot right under foot, harder farther out.
Hop, hop, jump. Make sure you fall onto ski. NOT like walking. (this was the one ski on drill?).
