View as we arrived.
Arrived around midnight to the midnight sun. I enjoyed all the light. It gave energy and it was easy to go to bed late, get up early.
Hiked Mt. Esja the first day. Great way to get rid of jetlag. Had to take two buses to get there.
Lots of lupine on the hike, and all over we were to find out!

Hikers using chain to descend Mt. Esja. Very slippery and steep here.
Path up high on Esja.
Notice no trees up here.
Chain to grab onto.
View of Reykjavik from a hike from top of Esja. The hike was crowded with Icelanders trying to get some exercise, trail running and hiking.

There were two summit registers, one down below and one on tip top. I think the top isn't accessible in winter.
The other summit register with Seattle written in.
